Do You Know Jesus?

WHO IS
A CHRISTIAN?
A Christian
is one who loves Jesus Christ, trusts in Him as Savior and is
obedient to Him as Lord.
God Loves You. God has given you far more
than you have ever received from your parents or others. God
"furnishes us with everything to enjoy" 1 Timothy 6:17. In John 3:16
we are told of God's greatest gift, His son Jesus Christ who was
sent because of His love for us.
Christ Will Help You Face Life. Your
experiences in life will include all you are or ever will be. God
will be right there with you every step of the way in the person of
the Holy Spirit the Comforter (John 14:16).
Christ Will Give You Eternal Life. Being a
Christian is the only way to experience a meaningful and complete
life. In John 10:10 Jesus said, "I came that they may have life, and
have it more abundantly". He was talking not only about physical
existence, but also about the spiritual life which He imparts to
those who trust in Him.
WHEN YOU BECOME A
CHRISTIAN...
1. You Are a New
Creature. "Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17. The person
that you were in sin no longer exists!
2. Your Old Sinful Man (nature)
is Dead. "So, my
brothers, you also died to
the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to
another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might
bear fruit to God. For when we were controlled by the sinful
nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at
work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. But now, by
dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so
that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way
of the written code." Romans 7:4-6. When Christ died on
the cross to save us from our sins, our sinful nature died with
him and our new spirit nature rose with him at His
resurrection!
3.
Your Past Will Never Be Brought Up Again.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath
he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12 Your sins
are forgiven you and God will never bring them up
again!
4.
You Cannot Be Condemned for Your
Past. "There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of
the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of
sin and death." Romans 8:1-2. You are free! Your sins have been
forgiven and God will never condemn you, nor can any
man condemn you for anything that is in your
past!
AN INVITATION TO YOU
Now
that you know the reason for a relationship with Christ Jesus and
understand who a Christian is, you can begin today, right now
by accepting Him as your Lord & Savior and by asking Him to
give you a clean heart.
HOW DO YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN?
A person
does not consciously develop a Christian life. One makes a decision
to become a Christian; one chooses to trust and follow Jesus Christ.
God does not force anyone to follow Him. God prepares a table for
us, but we shall starve to death unless we decide to come and
eat.
The requirements for becoming a Christian are
clearly revealed:
Repent of Your Sinful and Selfish Ways. "He
commands all men everywhere to repent" Acts 17:30.
Believe In Jesus Christ. "Believe in the
Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" Acts 16:31.
Obey The Commands of Christ. "If you love
me", Jesus said, "you will keep my commandments" John
14:15.
If you have taken these steps
today, you are now a Christian, so welcome to the Body of
Christ!
Your next step is to find a Holy Spirit
led, Bible believing and teaching church so that you may feast upon
the Word of the Lord and fellowship with other believers. You are

Romans

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.
