Our
Pastor strongly believes in equipping God's people to be strong
Christians. It is his desire to feed the sheep so that we may be
sent out into the world to draw others to Christ. All too many times
we are not effective because we have issues within ourselves that
hinder our witness. It is only when we deal with our own issues that
we can be effective. As our Pastor always tells us, "The
only Bible that most people will ever read, will be
you!"

One Storm Right After Another Dr. John H.
Walker Text: Job
1:13-19, 14:1
Job 1:13-19
13And there was a day when his sons and his
daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's
house:
14And
there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing,
and the asses feeding beside them:
15And
the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain
the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone
to tell thee.
16While
he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of
God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the
servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell
thee.
17While
he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The
Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have
carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the
sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
18While
he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and
thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest
brother's house:
19And,
behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the
four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they
are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Job 14:1
1Man that is
born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
Below are some
key ideas to remember:
There is a devil on every
level. The higher you go, the more the devil will mess with you. If
the devil is messing with you, God is getting ready to bless you.
Storms may keep
coming, but God is still good. Job was not sinless, but he
feared God. The Bible called him perfect, but perfect in the Greek
means to spiritually mature and since Job
was spiritually mature, he did not let evil folks get in his spirit.
You must guard your spirit.
Job's family was a close
knit family and they had gatherings all of the time. Job gave
sacrifices to God "just in case" one of his children did something
against God. God gives "just in case' blessings to your children for
you. God is so good that he will have people waiting in places to
bless you when you get there!
The heaviest burden is
followed by the greatest blessing! How can you deal with losing in
life? You keep getting up because of what God has put in you.
If you really want to come out of your storm, start thanking God for
it!
No matter the situation,
no matter the circumstance, always know that God will not put
anymore on you that you are able to bear. Just think of it this way,
he must really know that he can trust you if he allows you to go
through some things. It is just a set-up for what he wants to do in
your life!

2 Kings
4 8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha
passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him
to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned
in thither to eat bread. 9 And she
said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy
man of God, which passeth by us
continually. 10 Let us make a little
chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a
bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be,
when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in
thither. 11 And it fell on a day,
that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay
there. 12 And he said to Gehazi his
servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood
before him. 13 And he said unto him,
Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all
this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for
to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I
dwell among mine own people. 14 And
he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered,
Verily she hath no child, and her husband is
old. 15 And he said, Call her. And
when he had called her, she stood in the
door. 16 And he said, About this
season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And
she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine
handmaid. 17 And the woman conceived,
and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her,
according to the time of life. 18 And
when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his
father to the reapers. 19 And he said
unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him
to his mother. 20 And when he had
taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till
noon, and then died.
2 Kings
4 26 Run now, I pray thee, to meet
her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy
husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is

Philippians
4 11 Not that I speak in respect of
want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be
content. 12 I know both how to be
abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am
instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to
suffer need. 13 I can do all things
through Christ which strengtheneth
me.

sermon by our pastor, Dr. John H. Walker. The message is
entitled: "Crazy Faith That Makes a Whole Lot of Sense"
.
Below are some key ideas
to remember:
We live in a crazy world; a world
where people are flipping on you and you don't
know what's going on. Even so, God is in control and He gives us
(Christians) balance to live and keep our mental
stability.
In this story, the woman is promised a
child by God's prophet Elisha. She has been good to him, so He tells
her that she would have a child by the same time the following year.
Just as he told her, she has a son in the specified time.
However, the child becomes sick in the
field one day, is taken to his mother and dies in her lap. This may
seem like a terrible thing to have happened, but it was all a part
of God's divine plan. God allowed the child to die (an attack of the
enemy, no less) so that he could take the woman's faith to another
level.
When the child died, the woman laid the
child down upon Elisha's bed and prepared to go to find him.
Although she was a wealthy woman, she
saddled her own donkey and then called to her husband for a servant
to take her to find Elisha. Her husband was perplexed because she
was looking for the Man of God during the middle of the week. He
asked her what the special occasion was and she simply replied that
"it shall be well". She had faith that if she could make it to
Elisha, that he could restore her
son.
However, by the time she found Elisha, her
faith had grown. When she reached Elisha, his servant Gehazi asked
her if all was well with her son and she didn't say "it shall be
well" again, but said "it IS well". She
knew that the child was dead, but her faith had grown to not just
believing that the child would be restored but to KNOWING that he
would be restored.
Sometimes, God will allow us to go through
things so that we can do things that we have never done before. Had
the child not died, her faith may have never grown into crazy
faith!
In order for 'crazy' miracles to happen
in our lives, we MUST have 'crazy' faith; if we don't believe that
it will happen, then it certainly WON'T HAPPEN FOR
US!

What to Do When You Have Been Picked Out to Be Picked On - Pastor John H.
Walker
Genesis 37:1-4, Daniel 6:1-7, John
1:11
Genesis 37 1 And Jacob
dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of
Canaan. 2 These are the generations
of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock
with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with
the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his
father their evil report. 3 Now
Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the
son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many
colours. 4 And when his brethren saw
that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated
him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
Daniel 6 1 It pleased
Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which
should be over the whole
kingdom; 2 And over these three
presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give
accounts unto them, and the king should have no
damage. 3 Then this Daniel was
preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent
spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole
realm. 4 Then the presidents and
princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the
kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as
he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in
him. 5 Then said these men, We shall
not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against
him concerning the law of his
God. 6 Then these presidents and
princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King
Darius, live for ever. 7 All the
presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the
counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish
a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask
a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king,
he shall be cast into the den of lions.
John
1 11 He came unto his own, and his
own received him not.
This
text was the basis for a dynamic sermon by our pastor, Dr. John H.
Walker. The message is entitled: "What to Do When You Have Been
Picked Out to Be Picked On".
To constructively deal with being
picked on, remember these key ideas to react as a child of God and
keep your integrity.
1) Ignore
them. If they haven't physically harmed you, ignore them
and they'll soon realize that their efforts are useless and will
leave you alone.
2) Remember that
most people who pick on you are jealous of you because you have
something that they want.
3) Don't allow
yourself to start hating those that pick on you. It might
eventually destroy you and may not affect them at all.
4) Pray for
them. If you want God to show up, pray for them because
prayer has therapeutic value.
5) Love
them. Love the hell out of them because love conquers
all.
Joseph's brothers hated
him because Jacob love him most. Be careful when you tell folks your
dreams and visions because some folks can't handle your dreams and
will start hating on you. Some folks can't deal with your
relationship with God.
Daniel was a Jew
that rose up in the government of Babylon. The people got mad
because he was an outsider that was going to hold the top position
under the king. They threw Daniel in the Lion's Den, but the next
morning they found him unharmed and his enemies were thrown
in. You better be careful how you pick on God's children
because that same thing can come upon you.

John
11 20 Then
Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met
him: but Mary sat still in the
house. 21 Then said Martha unto
Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not
died. 22 But I know, that even now,
whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it
thee. 23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy
brother shall rise again. 24 Martha
saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection
at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto
her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he
live: 26 And whosoever liveth and
believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
This
text was the basis for a dynamic sermon by our pastor, Dr. John H.
Walker. The message is entitled: "Just Believe".
Below
are some key ideas to remember:
Jesus
felt love in Mary, Martha and Lazarus' house. They were so close to
Jesus that they knew how to reach Him in case of an emergency. But,
the relationship between Jesus and Lazarus was special. In
fact, it was so special that when Mary and Martha sent for Jesus, no
one even mentioned Lazarus' name, they just said, "he whom thou
lovest".Jesus
did not get upset when
He
heard the news, in fact, He stayed where He was for two more days.
Why? Jesus didn't have to go anywhere because He was already there!
As
He made the journey to Bethany, Martha went out and met Jesus on the
outskirts of the city. She was angry with Jesus and she was sure to
have had an attitude when she saw Him. When she spoke to Him, her
words showed both faith and lack of faith. It wasn't until after
Jesus asked her if she believed that Lazarus would rise, that the
miracle happened. It was when she BELIEVED, that Jesus was able to
raise Lazarus from the dead. FAITH moved God's hand.
It
is time for us to trust God to do what He said that He would do. If
we simply believe that God will do it, He'll begin to
open doors for us. There is stuff in God's storehouses right
now, but until we show some mountain moving faith, we can't get
it.
You
can have a spiritual emergency where you can't feel God's presence.
If you do, just call on the Name of Jesus!

Prerequisites for
Prosperity Dr. John H. Walker Text: III
John 1:1-6
Scripture References: III John 1:9, Matthew 12:35,
John 17:17, Isaiah 55
3 John 1
1The elder unto the
wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
2Beloved, I wish
above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as
thy soul prospereth.
3For I rejoiced
greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is
in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4I have no greater
joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
5Beloved, thou doest
faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
6Which have borne
witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward
on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:
Below are some key ideas to
remember:
The condition of prosperity
is the condition of your soul. Some folks cannot prosper because
they are not content in their spirit.
What are the keys to
prosperity?
- The Truth Must Be in
You - It is one thing to get in the Word, but another thing
to get the Word in you! You can prosper if the Word gets in you.
When there is truth, nothing is concealed. If you speak the
Word, then you are saying exactly what God said and He said that His
Word would not return unto Him void.
- Others Can See the Truth
in You - When others can see the truth in you, you don't
have to blow your own horn. People are blessed because they live a
life before God & men that is according to the Word of God. Your
life is a part of your testimony.
There will always be people in the
church that want to stop what God wants to do and there are a lot of
holy, angry people in the church. They have no joy because they do
not truly know God. You will also always have people that have their
priorities wrong. Instead of them putting God first in their lives,
they usually have many gods that take precedence. Like Diotrephes,
attending Sunday School and Bible Study is not important to
them.
Gaius was a man that had the
truth in him and people saw good in him. What is in you will come
out of you. There is a God factor and a good man brings forth good
things, while an evil man, evil things.
John was the last apostle to die
and he knew the Lord on a very special level. Education does not make you closer to God and there are
some educated fools in the church. We have to spend some time alone
with God in prayer and in His Word so that we can receive His Word
into our hearts. We must not only know the Word of God, however, we
must live what we learn.
What profit is it to a man who
knows the Word, but doesn't live his life according to it?
